Hotels across the country are offering guests special perks such as free room upgrades or complimentary drinks under a new discount scheme.

The Hospitality Professionals Association (HOSPA) has launched the venture, as the industry struggles during the coronavirus pandemic.

The #SleepOvertoHelpTurnover initiative is similar to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, enabling hotels to attract extra customers and clients to obtain discounts, MirrorOnline reports.

However, unlike Eat Out to Help Out, this venture is not linked to a Government promotion.

Offers include complimentary meals, free nights, complimentary wine or champagne, free room upgrades, free parking, or even half-price cocktails.

A number of hotels have already signed up and unveiled some discounts. Some of the deals on offer so far include:

  • The  Royal Lancaster London  is offering free suite upgrades if you book a deluxe room from Thursday to Sunday until November 30.
  •

  • Cedar Manor  in the Lake District will offer a complimentary bottle of Prosecco if you reference #SleepOvertoHelpTurnover when you book. The deal is valid until November 30.
  •

  • Billesley Manor Hotel and Spa  in Warwickshire is offering half-priced cocktails.
  •

  • The Draycott Hotel by Mantis  in London has a number of perks including free upgrades, early check-in and late check-out, as well as complimentary tea, champagne or hot chocolate.
  •

To claim, holidaymakers will need to reference #SleepOvertoHelpTurnover when booking a stay at their chosen hotel.

At the moment just a selected number of hotels are taking part, but the scheme expects more to sign up in the coming weeks.

Find out more, and see the full list of participating hotels, on the  HOSPA website.

Check for any local lockdowns or restrictions in your chosen destination before booking a trip.
