After a six-month hiatus, Corryong’s “top pub” is open again. The Corryong Courthouse Hotel closed its doors for the immediate future at the start of April, only re-opening last Thursday. Publican Donna Cadman was welcomed back to work with a bouquet of flowers from some of her regulars. “They were just happy to be able to come out for lunch again,” she said. “We’re only doing the five days to ease our way back into it. “It’s a matter of people coming back to us.” Ms Cadman said it felt strange being back after six months. “It just would not have been worth our while [operating]; it would have cost more to be open,” she said. IN OTHER NEWS: “My biggest belief was the community needed it – it’s a social outing. “Tourism is a big thing here, especially with the warmer months.” Ms Cadman hopes to see visitors return. “People were coming here to spend money to help us, and then again it was shut down … that’s one of the hardest things,” she said.
