Torri Donley

Election Day is a just over a month away and this year should present as much intrigue as ever, particularly as a global pandemic lingers.

A number of restaurant brands are incentivizing their employees to participate in the process, providing benefits like paid-time off to vote or registration resources.

There’s good reason for chains to encourage their employees to vote. The restaurant industry is the second largest private-sector employer—a big target to help promote the democratic process, particularly as a measly 56% of eligible Americans voted in

India’s food retail market to touch Rs 62 lakh crore by 2023: SBI Ecowrap

India’s food retail market is expected to touch Rs 62 lakh crore by 2023, driven by a shift in consumption away from low value staples to high value proteins (fish, meat, eggs, pulses, dairy products, fruits and vegetables), as incomes rise, said SBI Ecowrap in a report on Monday, October 12.

The report said the Indian agriculture sector must take advantage of such shift adding that “India is no more just a cereal granary and states are producing diversified crops and it is time that we go for white revolution.”

Mentioning the country’s export share of agri products, the report enunciated, “As per WTO data, India exported $37 billion worth of agriculture products in 2019 and had 2.1% share in world agri exports.” Although agricultural exports comprise around 10 per cent of

Nachos are a go-to indulgence food, but there are some simple tips to take you to next-level snacking.

I love nachos.

Wait, that’s an understatement.

I looooove nachos!

That’s better. In fact, my nickname is “Nacho Man” because a night on the town included stops for nachos at three different restaurants.

Nachos are one of my go-to indulgences, and throughout my years of cooking in restaurants, I have picked up a few tips that have significantly raised my nacho game and can help yours. Not only will these tips help you make better nachos, but they will make them easier to make and share with others.

I make nachos a few different ways depending on what I’m in the mood for, and also who I am begrudgingly sharing them with. But my staples are as follows:

Homemade queso sauce

Quick pickled jalapenos

Fresh tortilla chips

Owners of much-loved Liverpool restaurant say their ‘anxiety is hard to capture’

Torri Donley

The owners of a much-loved Liverpool restaurant have spoken out about the current lockdown restrictions and said “the worry and anxiety for ourselves, staff and suppliers is hard to capture”.

In an emotional letter Peter and Elaine Kinsella, the owners of Catalonian bar and deli Lunya, said the jobs of nearly 70 people are at stake ahead of the Government’s announcements.

So far, all restaurants, pubs and bars across the country have been told to close their doors at 10pm. More locally, in the Liverpool City Region, restrictions are stricter as two households are not allowed to meet indoors.

It is expected Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce further restrictions tomorrow for Merseyside, with worries stricter rules could be put in place for hospitality venues.

Peter and Elaine said: “In all our 30 years of running a business, we have never known a week like this one.

“We have had

In a year of canceled events, what’s a catering company to do? Pivot, with tacos – Food and Dining – Austin 360

Torri Donley

In March, a local catering company called La Pera had 137 employees, some contract or part time, to help them serve food at the kind of parties and events that are a cornerstone of Austin’s social scene. Weddings and anniversaries, product launches, tasting events, conferences, corporate parties.

Seven months into the coronavirus pandemic, they have seven.

“There were days when we needed 75 people on staff, and now maybe we need four,” says co-owner Bethany DiBaggio.

Although she and her partner Rafael Rodriguez hope to eventually hire some of those employees back when Austin’s large-scale events return, a marker of normalcy that could be more than a year away, they aren’t going to sit around and hope the phone rings.

DiBaggio and Rodriguez opened La Pera in 2017 after meeting a few years earlier through the food scene. Rodriguez, a McAllen native whose family is from Guadalajara, had left the

CALISTOGA, Calif. (KRON) — “Calistoga Ranch unfortunately was completely destroyed by the fires which really puts our 175 team members of that hotel in a very difficult situation.”

Exactly two weeks later, the resort’s parent company Auberge held a food drive Sunday at Solage Resort in Calistoga.

At least 350 boxes full of fresh and shelf stable food were given out to employees.

“It’s an adjustment period right you got to get back into your space, there’s a lot of work to do,” Regional Vice President of Solage Todd Cilano said. “You start to visually look around you’re visually reminded of what took place.”

The luxury 5-star resort was evacuated on Sunday, Sept. 27 when the Glass Fire erupted.

All resort guests, owners and employees got out safely before the fire tore through the property.

The site known for a peaceful serene getaway now reduced to rubble.

This Food-Themed Mechanical Keyboard Looks Delicious

Artisan keycap maker Tiny created this “Smorgasboard,” a keyboard full of food-themed keycaps, over the course of 11 months. The design for each one is inspired by the letter or symbol it corresponds to, such as a stack of waffles for “W” or a chocolate bar for the period key (get it?)

Even though I’ve been writing about video games and tech for a while now, there are still some subjects that I feel like I should have strong opinions on by now that I just…don’t. Mechanical keyboards, for example. I own one myself, sure. I asked for it as a wedding present solely because it’s pastel pink and, let’s face it, I’m nothing if not a basic bitch at heart. But if you asked me what kind of switches I’ve been tapping away at for over a year now, you’d get a blank stare
