Suntory Beverage & Food has issued a call for help in creating the next generation of tailored nutritional beverages.
The Japanese company today launched the ‘Open Innovation Portal’, an online submission form for beverage entrepreneurs and companies to pitch ideas. SBF is looking for help in a number of areas, including slimming drinks and personalised energy beverages that work “in harmony” with individual needs.
The company is seeking innovations from individuals, start-ups, research institutions and academia from across the globe. Ideas can be submitted through the portal. According to SBF, the ideas will be subject to evaluation and submitters are responsible for their own IP protection. Submissions must arrive by the end of October.
International drinks companies are expanding into new categories, including personalised health products. Earlier this week, PepsiCo announced the launch of Driftwell, a sleep-aid beverage that contains 200mg of L-theanine.
